How hard can it be to get some resistors? You need them anyway. I bought a whole box some 10 years ago and I still use them for breadboardprototyping. It is very handy to have a complete range of resistors always available.
Its a half hour trip to the electronics store and half a hour back. 
I'm getting a bunch of assorted resistors from Futurlec. They are 1c each in packs of 10.
I probably will never use them all but 6 different types is good enough for me.
