Reading/writing to Fujitsu WT-A522 tags

I bought these tags (seen here: Fujitsu WT-A522LA UHF RFID Fashion Tag) to test for a build thinking that the Adafruit PN532 RFID/NFC shield would be able to read them but, go figure, it didn't.

I'm new to this whole RFID thing. Does anyone out there have any experience with these tags, or can have a look at the specs and point me in the right direction? Is this even possible with this particular reader? I just need it to demonstrate a concept in a presentation.

The reason why I'm trying to use the Adafruit/Arduino reader is because the big high-powered reader that would ideally be used costs like $1500, and mama ain't got that kind of dough.

The Fujitsu WT-A522 UHF RFID tags work at frequency range: 902-928MHz, 865.6-867.7 MHz while PN532 reader work @ 13.56MHz. If you only want to demonstrate some simple NFC/RFID handling use cheap Mifare tags (with the PN532)
