Really noob question

Hell there everyone,

I have searched high and low for the answer to this question and I'm guessing the reason I haven't found it is because of my lack of electronics knowledge.

On my Anduino Uno board, where exactly are the inner and outer contacts for the DC connector?

Thank you for your help.

When you look inside the DC jack (big black block that a DC power adaptor plugs in to), you'll see a metal pin in the middle (that's the inner contact) and a sprung 'lug', that's the outer contact.

The inner post is the positive voltage, the outer ring is Gnd.

Are you asking about inside the connector or where they connect "outside" of the connector? Like what pins? Or what physical connections?

One of those moments that a picture could say more than a thousand words.

DC jacks need to come in maybe 3 sizes.

Small for smt boards.
Med for regular boards
Large for any power hungry devices.

When possible i rip out these dc jacks from modems, routers anything and replace them with 1 standard size so my plugs fit!
