I would like to design a radio / scanner similar to a portable SDR but in all modes (AM FM SSB ECCC) to listen to broadcast radio and amateur radio all other services based on arduino, but do not know which components go, can you help me?

Elektor ran a 5 or 6 part series an an AVR Software Defined Radio... From what I saw it seemed a complete Amateur Radio General Coverage Receiver.
