Recommendation for a dust sensor

Hi

I am looking to install outdoors a dust sensor to measure the concentration/ presence of dust particles in air.
Does anybody have experience with these sensors?
Which one would you recommend for outdoor use?

Why not let google do it for you. I searched with this: "dust sensor to measure the concentration/ presence of dust particles in air" and found lots of them. I have no idea of your expertise, resources, talents etc.

Thanks for your message.

I have tried googling it of course but I was looking for some input from someone who has already been through the experience of trying these sensors. I ve used a number of sensors in the past for other things like temperature, humidity etc and there are is lots of documentation online comparing the different types available.
In the case of dust sensors there isn't as much available.
In addition, installing the sensor outdoors poses additional challenges.

Challenges... that depend a.o. on your local weather conditions and the amount of dust you expect to see, so there's no one size fits all. Temperature sensors are indeed much simpler for that matter.

Dust levels depend a lot on where exactly you place your sensor, a few meters change can make a big difference, especially if that's in the vertical (larger particles prefer to stay low), and the local environment (obstacles to local dust getting to the sensor, for example). You may have to consider how you get a sufficient and representative air flow through your sensor for proper sampling as well.

I am using 2 WaveShare dust sensor modules

The dust sensor outside in a Stevenson's Shield.

The dust sensor in the house has a 5V fan running on 3v3V to stir the air.

They work well.

Do you use a fan for the outdoors sensor too ?

The outdoor sensor, being in a Steven's Shield does not require a fan for proper air flow. I do not use a fan with the outside particle sensor.

Doesn't the Stevenson shield partly block the dust particles and affect the readings?

no.
