Recycle Netgear WG111v3 or WG511T for WiFi?

I am just wondering if anyone has attempted to recycle either of these B/G WiFi device for use with the Arduino?

The WG111v3 is a USB device, but the WG511T is a PCMCIA card that may be pin compatible with the WiFly.

I have a bunch of these, and before I summarily dispose of them due their now lack of support on current notebooks (inbuilt B/G/N or no PCMCIA slot) I would like to recycle them.

"the WG511T is a PCMCIA card that may be pin compatible with the WiFly"

A cursory google search suggests that the WG511T is using an Atheros chipset, while the WiFly is either Realtek or Ralink. Plus, I'm pretty sure that the WiFly has an onboard CPU to run their TCP/IP stack. So, prospects don't look good.

On the plus side, Linux users seem to be happy with the WG511T, and usually don't care much about manufacturer support, so you can probably "summarily dispose" of them for cash, install of tossing them in the e-waste bin.
