Red laser emitter safety?

Hi,
I have a small Arduino red laser emitter marked by “HW-483” (image attached), which is supposed to be continuously pointed at an office ceiling or a wall to signal something.

The target surface is painted matte white, and people might look at this reflecting laser light spot for a few seconds or even minutes.

I can’t find any data regarding this emitter classification or safety.

Help will be greatly appreciated…

That looks like the element from a cheap laser pointer, and if so, reflected light from a matte surface is very unlikely to be a problem.

The major safety concern would be if someone were to look directly into the laser beam, so make sure that is not possible.
