I have an Arduino Due. The website tells me I must install a core that supports the Due (the Sams Boards Core). I also need to find out how to register my boards. Thank you, Phil
The web tells you what to do :
Are you having a specific problem here ? If you are new to Arduino , I wouldn’t start with this board , I’d get a UNO.
I don’t think you have register a board , not heard that one before .
Btw : I’d go with the desktop IDE - seems easier to me
The "registration" section of the website is not available so you need not worry about that aspect at all.
To install the cores goto
Boards
Board Manager
Type "due" in empty box and press ENTER.
Click "More Info"
Then click "Select Version" Latest is 1.6.10.
Now click "Install"
Often better to shut down the IDE and restart the computer just to be sure.
You can check if it was installed correctly using the same method but without the last 3 steps.
Hammy, Thank you for your advice. Yes, I am new to the Forum. I do have an Uno and want to learn Arduino C language. The Due has much more memory than the Due.....good for a beginner.
I have the IDE. It works fine. I the box with the Due there is a pamphlet that tells me to register the product and provides a registration code. Please be patient with me as I am new to the forum as well as to the Due.
Please do not worry about the registration number
If you are still unsure please read THIS POST where a member of Arduino states that it is not available yet and says the same as I said.
