Relative Humidity and Temperature sensor problem

When I power the device as shown in the picture 5V and GND it works, no problem.

The thing is I can't have it on all the time so I want to power it with a digital pin(13). When I measure the voltage from 13 to GND it's 4.8V. When I plug in the device using 13 as the 5V supply it doesn't work and when I measure the voltage over the device(13 to GND) it shows 2.3V. And there is no voltage between S(third pin on device) and pin 13.

Anyone knows what the problem is?

  1. What is the current output capability of the Arduino digital pin? Look this up in the datasheet if you don't know.

  2. What is the current draw of the sensor? Look this up in the datasheet if you don't know.

  1. The maximum current output capability of the Arduino digital pin is 40mA.

  2. The minimum current for the sensor is 0.5mA, maximum is 2.5mA.

Found the problem. It was a stupid mistake in the code. I had to set the pinMode to OUTPUT in the setup function. But thanks for trying to help anyway.
