I am newer to Arduino, and I tried doing lesson 22, but after wiring everything and uploading the code, nothing happened. I was not getting any error messages, and the serial monitor was showing that it was going through. I thought maybe the relay pins were not making contact, but I soldered them with wires, and still nothing happened. I have followed the wiring diagram on the lesson and double checked it still nothing happening, did I get a defective relay or is there something wrong with the lesson? The entire lesson packet is here. I am looking at lesson 22 specifically.
Lesson 22 of what?
Clearly, lesson 22 of Arduino. I googled it.
It must be this GPS lesson 22 - http://www.toptechboy.com/arduino/lesson-22-build-an-arduino-gps-tracker/
I have edited the post and have the link posted to the packet the lesson is on.
Do you have a multimeter? Can you hear the relay "click"?
I cannot hear the relay, and I do have a multi-meter
you can verify that the relay works, simply by using the multi-meter to check which pins are connected when there is no power on the coil, and then doing the same with power on the coil.
I have confirmed that the relay works, and through looking at it more, the relay does not even truly need to be used. But I still could not get the relay to work in that lesson.
so now either the lesson is faulty or you made a mistake somewhere.
ehm what makes you think you do not need the relay ? oh and we don't have the code for the lesson
