Relay shield

Hi,
has anyone used this relay shield by seeed (http://www.seeedstudio.com/depot/relay-shield-v20-p-1376.html?cPath=132_134)? Is it good, or does anyone have any other suggestion? Plus, haven’t done anything with relays yet, but want to give it a try, so can you use it to fade lights in and out, or is it only on/off?

Relays are too slow to dim lights. Use a transistor or MOSFET.

Is there any MOSFET shield you would recomend? Some available code maybe? It doesn't look as popular as the relay shields (after a quick search)...

What type of light (voltage / amps / AC or DC)?

to be honest I don't really know. it's an idea for a noise music performance. i want the sound amplitude to control the brightness of a couple of lights (that will be done with a computer sending data to arduino). some quite strong light would be good, but since i've never dealt with something like that before, i don't know what i should be looking for..

hi to all, i'm newbei with arduino... i have bought this relay shield http://www.robot-italy.com/it/relay-shield.html

to pilot a 40W light, but i have bad result the relay on the board is exploded and also arduino uno on the bottom is injuried.

for the next try can you tell another relay board that can support this load.

i have thinked that 3A 120V AC was good for 40W 3*120=360W

but now i know that this is wrong...

Can somebody help me, please?????

The board you exploded should have worked fine for a 40W bulb driven with 120V AC. Either you made a connection mistake or you just got a faulty board.

Or, you put 220 Euro-Volts thru it…

mmm...yes i'm living in italy 220 V is the Volts here

so what can i do now????
