Relay to Switch 1200W Heating Element

Hello Everyone,

I would like to switch 1200W (220V, 5.5amps) heating element with Arduino. Do you think the relay in the link would work for me ? Should I do some thicker wiring on the back of PCB?

If it won't work, how about an SSR or power mosfet circuit?

Thanks a lot.

I don't trust those tiny relays for 5.5A at 220VAC, I would use something like: https://www.amazon.com/uxcell-Solid-SSR-25-3-2-32V-24-380V/dp/B0087ZTN08/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1527601766&sr=8-5&keywords=solid%2Bstate%2Brelay%2B25a&th=1

Yep agree with Outsider on that one - those first ones linked to will work for a short while but eventually die under that sort of load.

SSR is definitely the way to go - make sure you get one with a heatsink even though your load is negligible
