Relays Tripping Main Power Supply

Hi all,

So i've got a problem with a relay board making my power supply shut down. Fritzing schematic and build pictures attached.

The problem is that when all electromagnets are plugged into the NC of all 4 relays my power supply ceases to turn on - (power supply - Yeeco Buck Converter).

It works with only 2 electromagnets attached to the relays but once i add a third it switches itself off then wont turn back on until i take all loads off of the relays. When the electromagnets are plugged into the NO of the relays all works fine but is obviously on the wrong side. I've tried rewiring and my only other idea is to put another 1N4007 diode on the in of the buck converter.

I'm unfortunately away from the project until tomorrow so can't try this. Does anyone have any other ideas as to what this might be?

Cheers
T

Fritzing drawings are NOT NOT NOT SCHEMATICS!

Provide a schematic - if you don't know what one is (and clearly you don't) look it up

t works with only 2 electromagnets attached to the relays but once i add a third it switches itself off

That's not a problem with the relays that's a problem with the load!

Sorry for the terminology mistake. Does the drawing and pictures give you enough information to elaborate on what the problem with the load might be?

Only when you measure the current draw can the problem be defined and cured.

What's the voltage & current rating on the electromagnets?

What's the voltage & current rating on the power supply feeding the DC-DC converter?

Are you running the electromagnets at their rated voltage?

...Most likely you are trying to exceed the available current.
