Remote teacher needs guidance for project

i am a remote science teacher more of a mechanical engineer new to Arduino's. i teach great kids in Kenya, Malawi and several other remote places I am in Geogia. anyway, i am always looking for something for them to do after school. so, i got this winch link below it has a remote control I hope I am clear in my description. what i want to attempt to do is to have an Arduino control the remote and let them be able to control it from their computers obliviously i would need to somehow throw a camera in the mix as well as sound and then get this menagerie onto a website where do I even start?

Will you have confidence in the local assistance they must have to work with such a device safely? There are serious risks attendant with 'silly things kids might do' with such a device in their hands.

Quite honestly, a scene from 'Crocodile Dundee' comes to mind...

Teacher: "Hey, where's my car gone?" You don't want to know...

Not worried at all about their safety I live in Georgia and they are in Africa the winch system would be set up in my fathers old workshop. That’s why I am hoping to have a camera and microphone set up looking at it so they can see the thing move

Ahh, now I get the topology. Okay, concerns allayed. Carry on!

I suggest to start by having the kids turn on and off a remote LED. Or a red and a green LED, to simulate forward and reverse.

That would be 99.9% of the work with 0.0% of the mechanical risk.
