Repairing damaged trace?

I touched a trace soldering a PCB and damaged it. Can it be repaired? How?

Solder a piece of wire over it. Do not apply too much heat for too long and make it lift off the board.

Normally you run a thin wire along the damaged track, one of tinned copper of about 28 SWG. Then you keep it down with a drop of circuit tack, it is a jell like super glue.
