replace usb-B with usb micro-B

I would like to replace the usb B (attached photo) with the usb micro_B (attached photo). It looks like a straightforward replacement but pin 4 (usb b) is connected to the board where is P4 (usb micro-B) is NC

Whatever is reading the USB signals doesn't care about what physical connector is used, as long as the wires are connected correctly.

In this photo I connected the micro usb-B. Is this correct or do I need to post a photo showing the chip (ATMEGA8U2-MU)?
