Reprogramming an Arduino Micro

Hi,

I have an Arduino micro which I am trying to reprogram using the ISP header. I have remove R4 on the board which pulls the HWB pin to ground. (Not sure if this is necessary?)

I am using aan AVR JTAG ICE MkII.

I can read the micro identity correctly, I can read fuses, I can erase the device etc. However I can't reprogram it. When I try to load my COFF file into it I just get the message "Failed to identify target.."

I am an experienced AVR programmed with 128P etc but I've not used the 32U4. How do the fuses need to be set to achieve this?

Incidentally, I am powering the board via USB and the power light is on so all seems OK, I just can't reprogram.

Any help appreciated.

I would try unplugging the 32u4 board from the USB... the MkII can power for reprogramming if board current is small.
