Requesting permission to use arduino.cc images

Hello

I am in the process of creating a document which discusses the selection of a suitable Arduino board for DIY PCB creation. I would like to use the images of each board next to a description in my document. The document is a primer intended for anyone wanting to make their own Arduino boards at home.

I've looked everywhere but I can't find any info on any license or copyright information used for images found on the website.

So does anyone know if I may use the Arduino board images from the website? The site will obviously be referenced - and yes, permission is generally required for images EVEN if they have been referenced (I've written too many reports at University to ignore requesting permission).

Thanks!

Well considering that the arduino is open source, I'm guessing the pics on the site are as well. Plus, I've seen the pictures floating around other websites, so I highly doubt that they are under any strict copyright license, if under any at all.

I always use images from Wikipedia, because they are often put out in the public domain, you need to check the image first.

Yeah I suppose taking into account the open source nature of the Arduino I could assume it extends to the use of images.

@zageek I am in the process of setting up an Arduino workshop in Joburg, I'll email you more details at a later stage.

Hey Dino glad to hear that I am planning on doing the same thing in Cape Town soon. I already have some of the my ducks in a row. Just need to get more hardware in my hands soon.

I have discovered some students who are using the Arduino down here as well.

Have you checked out Arduino.za.net

Nice to see local workshops. Wish there was one in Durban.
