Resetting Arduino BT boards

Hi All,

I have a question that hope is simple enough. I need to reset some Arduino BT boards to their factory state but I can't pair with them.

I got a batch of Arduino BT boards back from some students who have now left. All boards have custom names and pass phrases so I can't reprogram any of these as I don't know the pass to pair with them.

The page for the ArduinoBT says that digital pin 7 is used to reset the blue tooth module but gives no further information. If I reset the module would I be able to pair it using the standard 12345 passphrase? And if so, How do I reset it? connect the pin to ground or high?

I have an mkii programmer and looked at the instructions to upload sketches directly with it. But as I understood this would override the bootloader. Is this correct?

I just want to get the boards to their factory setup so that they can be used again as normal.

Any pointers will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

My thoughts:

Try just the initialization sketch to start using a USB/Serial adapter part such as FTDI Basic.

If not, Use the MKii programmer to reload the default bootloader, will wipe out any sketches stored. Then load the initialization sketch using a USB/Serial adapter part such as FTDI Basic.

This RESETs the Bluetooth module's state machine. It doesn't change any settings.

You may need to read through the Bluegiga datasheets and product support information to see if there is a way to restore the device to factory settings.
