Paul...actually on checking out the schematic view, it is to some extent more user friendly...breadboard view requires that you join wires at the breadboard pins...schematic is more (counterintuitively) user friendly, so thanks for that.
However...
I can find no way to edit the four digit 7-segment displays so that they more closely resemble my three-digit variety. The extra digit doesn't bother me...but the order of connection pins and wh\t they control seems stubbornly locked...so I'm afraid I've given up on Fritzing for now...but I do have all the components connected as you oputlined (hopefully_) on my board, and so I'#m looking at the software.
I feel another roasting coming my way, but...here goes.
Let me get the reason for the roasting out of the way first...I use libraries. Specifically in this case I have two new ones to deal with; SevSeg and Wire.
I could figure out how to operate them independently...but I can't figure out how to pass a SevSeg instruction to the Wire library, so that it recognises which display it should be sent to.
Before I go any further...would it be better if I transfer this to programming?
