So did you guys here the one about the machine that broke down because it had a resistor installed backwards from the manufacturer? I know I know.....I couldn't resist.

Hi, well if you put the resistor in the wrong way the value has changed.
I read my resistor colour codes left to right.
Resistor in wrong way means the value changes cos the colour code has.
This way you only need half the number of different value resistors in your parts tray.

PS A square peg will go in a round hole if the peg is small enough, or you use a bigger drill it.
(You can't put a square peg in a round hole....Didn't say it had to fit perfectly!!)

What about Arabic or Hebrew readers? They would see a different value to you.
And doesn't it depend if your circuit's working on conventional current or actual electron flow?
