It does have a lot to do with Open Source and projects like the Arduino and investing efforts where you feel that it matters and that you matter and that you can make informed and important decisions. I am pretty sure that a lot of the guys that have spent 30+ years in the industry developing what have you, feel quite OK and satisfied helping n00bs figuring out how to drive a relay here.
