RF Communication - key fob types?

Hello All,

I would like to connect a wireless RF module to a relayduino for wireless, programmable control of relays.

However, it's the first project I do with RF and I don't know much about it...

My main question would be: can a 433mhz receiver use signals from any 433mhz transmitter?

If it can, it would make my life a whole lot easier. Eventually I want to be able to control the relays from as far as 50m with a key fob.

Have any of you guys used key fobs with Arduino before? Any good kits to recommend?

Thanks so much!

No.
Different transmitters operate at slightly different frequencies, different modulation types (spread spectrum, fm, fsk etc) and protocols.
