Rf enabled Arduino based wireless costumes

just wanted to share a little project we completed here in Liverpool back in December, using some custom ciseco rf enabled boards to construct a wireless interface for controlling performers lights. In total there were 20 different units all with their own unique id's that used a combination of some very high powered CREE RGBW and some WS2801 rgb pixels. The whole system ran over 12v and was incredibly robust. The event was attended by 650 guests and located in a disused old warehouse in the north Liverpool docks. At the centre of the space, suspended from the in house gantry crane was the avant-techno group Dogshow playing inside a custom welded pod complete with 50m of WS2801 pixel tape all synced up over MIDI. The wireless performers provided a modular, roaming lighting rig that we were able to sequence, and control wirelessly..
