RF Power Output?

Hi,

Does anyone know how to change the RF power out of theMKR WAN 1310. I'm using a Multitech Conduit Gateway where I can set the output power to 32dBm. If I cannot set the 1310 to maximum (legal) power then I'm not going to get the range that I need. Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have a data sheet for the device that leads you to think it can be changed?
What antennas have you tried for greater range?
Do you have equipment to verify power output and antenna gain?

The LoRa device on the MKR WAN 1310 will be 20dBm maximum and is very likley set to 14dBm since this is the legal limit in a lot of places.

The murata datasheet indicates that output power is UP TO +18dBm suggesting it's configurable for different regions. Also both Microchip modules and the module from Laird allow for the output power to be varied.

I cannot get greater range as the antenna is internal to the enclosure.

Yes, the device will be compliance tested and legal but in order to get stakeholder buyin i need to know that I'm operating at the maximum legal power to give the maximum range.

Hmmm. That only told me the standard output and you can reduce it's output by you matching network to your antenna. As I recall, the test is made AT the antenna input point. Could be wrong.
IF you need greater range, use the power leads as an antenna.
