RF transmitter AM or FM

hello guys,

I'm not an expert in this so I'll ask. Let's say I have a code that generates tone on piezzo speaker. I already tried code with those cheap AM RF transmitters and recievers., that work fine.
What I would like to know is, would the same code tone(....) work with FM transmitters like this one ?:

I don't understand what "tone(...)" has to do with your RF module.

It might help to:

  • post some code
  • post a schematic of your setup

BTW: I looked up the module at Farnell, you can get cheaper ones on ebay, they might suit your needs as well.

tone() itself has nothing to do with RF module, I just put it as example. I was just asking myself, if different modulation would be a problem.

Module must have at least a mile of range.

The range of any wireless module is totally dependant on the terrain and the obstructions present between the
modules.
The choice of modulation will make little differance.
