You sketch fails silently if everything is not as expected, so there are no clues what's going wrong.
Suggest you modify it to print a diagnostic message on the Serial port when it receives data from the RFID reader, so you can see whether you are getting anything at all when the problem happens. If you are, you can investigate what that data is. I can see one problem right away - you don't provide any way for your sketch to get in sync with the card reader if there is ever a dropped or spurious byte on the RFID serial port, but don't assume that's the only problem. (You could probably address that one by applying a timeout between receiving the first byte, and receiving the whole message.)
