Hi all! I am trying to build a timer for distance running races using RFID. I don't know what equipment I need, especially since I am using Arduino to power it all. I did a little research and found that the best type of RFID antenna/chip is a UHF antenna and passive chips. I don't know exactly which antenna I should get, or if I need to get a reader or any specific cables. I do want to spend as little as possible, and the antenna doesn't need to have a lot of range, just anything from 30 centimeters or a meter. Any guidance would be much appreciated!
Hello
Take some time and run several RFID tutorial to gain the knowledge for your project.
After the tutorials look up some parts and read the data sheets. As far as the antenna etc that is hardware dependent for the most part and that choice cannot be made until the hardware design is specified. You might change your mind and go to an active RFID.
