RFID security

Would any one know the highest encryption or masking security on a Mifare 1K card that we use with the MFRC reader on Arduino?

I would like to know if there's a way to make unreadable sectors for security key bytes to another MFRC or card reader. Thanks a bunch peeps.

If they were unreadable then there is not much point in having them is there?

The format of a Mifair card is fixed there is nothing you can do about it. Any security has to be in the encryption of the data segments. Public key encryption should be enough.

I know they are protected with key A and B was just wondering if they could be write protected from a Promark reader that's all. Thanks

I don't know about that specific reader, but as far as I know you can't write protect anything on a Mifair card other than the sectors that are read only.

I used to work in access control and designed some RFID readers.
