Hope you understand what I am looking for...
I try to find a solution that works just like RFID but without RF part, but i find nothing.
Example, Can I use a phone connectors 3.5 mm instead of RF ?
Senario: Phone plug with a small memory of 8 bits that returns an id each time it is requested, as long as it is connected.
Any information that can lead me in the right direction appreciated!

It is a chip with an individual serial number with no two being the same. It could be installed inside the case of a 3.5mm phono plug.

yes or the Ibutton serie if you want a more "identification like" solution
i'm using them for my alarm system. It uses the "one wire" protocol
