RGB LED cube using LED strip

Hi I am planning to build an 3 x 3 x 3 LED cube/matrix

Instead of 4 pin rgb LEDs, I am using LED strips - addressable LEDs.
I've cut into 9 strips with 3 LEDs per strip, and attached , made 3 layers. Now I have no idea, on how to join layer 2 and 3.

Should I connect end of layer 1 to start of layer 2?

please advice.

Yes.

Alternatively connect each layer to 3 separate arduino pins. Or each strip to 9 separate arduino pins..Whichever is more convenient for your cube.

I'd love to see photos and video of this when you have it working. This is one of my proposed projects when I get round to it.

Trouble is, LED strips are not the best thing for making cubes. :slightly_frowning_face:
