Robotic Arm Mimicking your movements

Hello, i need help to figure out how to sense a specific arm movement. I have two accelereometers and a flex sensor to measure every other arm movement, but i am stuck on one. If you put your fist by your chest and move your arm out, how would you sense that motion. it has to sense your arm going out and coming in with still a lightweight design. Here is a quick picture i made in paint showing what i have so far. I am making an arm that mimics your arm movements. I have every motion except this one down... Anything will help!

Sounds like you want to do something like below. You probably best start by putting a pot at the elbow of your arm to track the elbow flexing.

I am trying to envision what movement you are going for; can you post a video or something of the movement you are looking to capture? I am thinking maybe you could use one (or two in opposing ways) stretch sensors wrapped halfway around your bicep from shoulder to elbow, to sense this rotation (but I am not sure at all this is the motion you are looking to capture).

Well, it looks like you're going to need some flex sensors of some sort at the shoulder, based on the motion in your video, I think...
