Robotics/Automation: Bussed vs Paired Power Wiring

I was wondering how users here feel about paired vs bussed power control wiring. In other words, would it be preferable to have a MOSFET controller board with DC outputs 1+, 1-, 2+, 2-, 3+, 3-, etc. or a board that only outputs 1-, 2-, 3-, 4-, etc. (for an N-MOSFET) and uses a simple bus connection for 1+, 2+, 3+, 4+, etc.

Aka, like this?

Not sure what you mean. High current lines (paired, for motors...) should be kept separate from logic voltage supplies in star topology.

I may not have been clear. I mean, say that you have a mosfet board with X number of MOSFETs. You only need one side of the circuit to switch power on and off. You can make/cut the connection to ground with power staying connected (for N-MOSFETs) or you can make/cut the connection to power with ground staying connected (for P-MOSFETs). So, if you are controlling X number of 12 or 24V circuits, is it preferable to have a control board with 2X output terminals (for + and - for each channel) or a control board with only X output terminals (whichever side is being switched, power/ground) and the opposites (ground/power) just attached to a bus bar?

I don't see what you mean. The first board is an input isolator, the second one switches power lines (output).

What load do you want to control? From a single or multiple (different) voltages?

I see that the boards I linked in the orginal post edit are different. I just mean how one has 32 screw terminals for 16 channels, with outputs 1 through 16 each having their own V+ and V-, and the other board has only 16 screw terminals for 16 channels, with a shared power side for each of the 16 circuits being controlled (needing a separate bus bar). See what I am talking about?

Each module (motor...) has 2 power connections which should be run paired and twisted. This suggests 2 screw terminals for each module.
