Robotiq website

Hi Guys,

This is a bit unrelated but I'm after a bit of help.

I ordered an Arduino kit from robotiq.co.uk on the 27th March. They state that shipping is usually within 5-10 days, which is fine.

Now, I've emailed them twice and tried calling them to confirm my order and ask if they can give me an idea of the delivery date but I've had no response. There's no answer on the phone and no call back from the voice mail I left. Naturally I'm getting a bit twitchy!

So I'm just wondering if anybody else has had trouble with these guys or if anybody might know alternative contact details?

It's a bit worrying that they're listed as a distributor on arduino.cc if they're not distributing anything!

What country are you in? In the uk that would mean that it's just about to be 9 months!

I have had no experience with them I'm afraid but that doesn't sound promising...

Mowcius

Oh crap! November! Not March! I have no idea why I wrote March, lol....
It's not as bad as it seems, it's only been a few weeks, hehe.

I'm in the UK mate.

November! Not March! I have no idea why I wrote March

Confused "11" decimal with "11" binary? ;D

That may have been it! lol

Still no response
Suppose I should try and recall my payment!

Hope you get it soon.

I ordered mine from cool components and it was delivered within 36 hours.

You can also buy from

Thanks guys, I'll check our those sites later. trip to the bank this morning I think!
If it didn't cost 30 quid to get the car ferry off the isle of wight, I'd drive to surry and find this bloody shop!

Oh this takes the p... !

Filed a dispute with the bank yesterday, and now the thing has turned up at work during my week off! Robotiq's order tracking still says "Pending" and I've heard nothing from them...

On top of that I went and ordered another one from somewhere else! lol.. oh well, no halm in having two is there? Can finally get involved

I have the same problem with Robotiq. Does anybody know something about this shop?

I am having the same problem with Robotiq. I have ordered an arduino kit 2 weeks ago, and it was not even sent yet to me. In their website my order is pending. I sent some emails and they dont never answered...I called them and nobody picks up the phone...going always to voicemail. I dont know what to do either...I will try to cancel the payment of this bill with my credit card company.
But I also think that the arduino manufacturers should be adivised too. for not recommending this shop in their website (arduino.cc/en/Main/Buy)

I just think this shop doesnt really exist and if I can I want to take legal action against them!

Its all about eBay, -25% and loads of feeback/options if something goes wrong!

But then I'm not a big fan of some of the shops on that list that put a HUGE mark-up on all the sparkfun products, converting $1 to £1 and adding TAX.......you know who you are!

I have ordered one from Robotiq myself within the last week.

From the posts on here, I'm honestly not expecting to see it for over a couple of weeks, but we'll see... I made sure I bought it on credit card for the extra protection.

Enthusiast - did your board ever arrive?

Hugo - please keep us posted as to whether it turns up within the next week or so.

Likewise, I'll feed back on here how things turn out for me.

Still not

I have just contacted Massimo Banzi. He will contact the people who handle the distributors to try to get in touch with Robotiq.

I have cancelled my credit card already and will contact the dispute department on Monday. I am already trying to find out which kind of institution I should get help from to investigate this case. I am guessing Robotiq is either a sham or went bankrupt. It is simply too weird having no ways to contact them for 2 weeks.

I keep you posted!

byles(who started this topic) wrote me that he has finally recieved order from robotiq.

Thanks for that enthusiast...but how long, in the end, he had to wait for?

Looking at his posts above, he ordered it on the 27 November and it arrived on 15 December.

I think that's about right!

It wasn't the time it took that worried me, it was that there was no communication. Robotiq finally contacted me, AFTER I received the "starter pack", to say it had been dispatched. This is simply unacceptable in my opinion.

I hope anybody else who has placed an order does receive it, but don't expect any contact from them. It looks like it's one guy called Andrew Eliasz who runs a book shop with erratic opening hours. There's a couple of websites for The Internet Technical Bookshop but they have very old contact details on them!

PS. I wouldn't worry about card fraud (just theft if the item doesn't turn up), as the online shop uses RBS Worldpay - they aren't going to run off with your card details.

Cancelling your card will not stop a merchant from taking their payment.... that's why Visa, MC and AMEX are accepted so widely - it's as good as cash. If cancelling the card worked people would be buying cars and cancelling the card all over the place. There is nothing you or your card issuer can do to stop a merchant from taking a payment that was previously authorised. All you can do is go through the chargeback process once it happens. Also don't you think you are perhaps overreacting?
Byles seems to have waited 3 weeks and Hugo has currently waited just over two. While I agree that this is poor service it's hardly fraud and cancelling your credit card is just going to inconvenience you not them....
