Hi, Is it possible to get roll and pitch angles from the x and y acceleration data obtained from the memsic 2125 accelerometer?
As a general solution, no.
But if you assume a normalised orientation in the first place, then yes.
Thanks michinyon. but how do i assume normalised orientation?
Well, if you assume your plane is flying straight and level and not accelerating, then you can assume that the values of the 2-axis accelerometer represent roll and pitch.
But if your plane is spinning or banking or climbing or accelerating or doing anything other than straight and level flight at a constant speed, then you cannot.
It depends what your control objective is.
Thanks once again. Would you advise me which sensors should i use to accomplish this?
