I am trying to build a steering wheel for pc using this tutorial, I found this encoder in a old HP printer but is different from the one in the tutorial. Can you help me to understand how to connect it? I don't need the motor
Where will the slotted wheel go if you don't use the motor.
As far as connections to the sensor, your Ohmmeter will tell you the two pins connected to the IR LED and which pins connect to the sensors.
