I got a KY-040 and it is fine and works, but it has ~30 clicks/notches per full rotation. I want something closer to 10-12 clicks/notches per full rotation. I can’t find anything like this, is there another name other than rotary encoder or product code other than KY-040 that I should be looking up?

Any decent electronics supplier will have a search tool for selecting components and dozens of choices of
rotary encoder switch - places like Mouser/Farnell/Digikey etc etc.
