Rotate stepper and stop

Hello
I need some help to use a stepper. I have all the code to rotate the stepper in bot directions. (I use downloaded Stepper sketches)
I have an input source whereby I type in say for example +10. I will need the stepper to rotate clockwise for 10 steps, then rotate 10 steps anti-clockwise and stop. If I type in -200, the stepper must rotate anti clockwise for 200 steps, then rotate 200 steps clockwise and stop
All help will be appreciated.

Someone just told me to use an encoder as the input. That works great.
