rotation speed control servo

Hi,

I have a project that controlling servo according to 'speed' that Im not sure what is the suitable sensor to measure the speed. Right now I use magnetic sensor to measure speed rotation. Right now, the possible goal is controlling servo based on rotational speed. So, the faster its rotates, servo will rotate bigger angle (maximum angle is 30 degrees) and the opposite.

Do you have any idea what kind of sensor/tool that able to measure/determine the rotation speed so that I can control my servo? Because I couldn't get determine the rotation speed Or if you have any idea please share to me

Thanks

You want to create a speed gauge..

How fast of a rotation are we talking about?
5rpm? 10rpm? 1000rpm?
And what do you want to measure? An axle? a tire? the road?

For low to medium speeds a slotted disc with an optical bridge would do, but when the speed is to high the disc will shatter.

T tool is a foam spray gun based basically, and I want to attach mesh/fabric onto it. Also, I want to remove the trigger and replace it with switch button on/off. Thus, the spraying power pressure is determined by the speed of mesh that fed into the nozzle spray gun. Diameter of mesh spool is around 5-6 cm, my current strategy is counting the rotation of spool. I hope it answers your question clearly.

That won't work. The speed of the spool is equal, but the speed of the mesh is largest when the spool is full (Larger diameter). So you need an extra spool that does nothing but let the mesh go around a corner or such. Can't find a picture right now,,,
