RS485 SoftwareSerial.h not working ?

Hi,
we trying to connect two arduinos (one of them is an Arduino one and other one is Arduino leonardo).
we are using the software version 1.6.5 and also we have just downloaded SoftwareSerial.h
it came with this examples:

we have the hardware correctly connected, but when we send some characters from the Serial monitor , other character are returned, i dont know what are we doing wrong our hardware is this one:
