RTC DS1307time cannot be set.

Hye everyone,

I got some problem on setting time on RTC. I followed each step on this tutorial,Understanding the Code | DS1307 Real Time Clock Breakout Board Kit | Adafruit Learning System.

Even after I took out the RTC's battery and insert it back, the time won't display 2000/00/00 0:0:0 just like the example in the tutorial. My RTC displays:

RTC is NOT running!
2165/165/165 165:165:85
 since midnight 1/1/1970 = 2028820689s = 23481d
 now + 7d + 30s: 2034/4/23 17:18:39

Thank you very much in advance XD

How is "YOUR" RTC wired to the Arduino.

I think I have seen all those 165s before, and it was a power supply problem - to the Arduino, not the clock. If you are using an LCD or LED display, you might be able to verify this by disconnecting it and sending the time to serial instead. If you are using a separate power supply, ignore this! If you are just using the USB cable, now might be the time to get a 9v wall wart.
