rtc with 555 chip

Hi all, anybody know how to wire a 555 chip to the arduino to have a real time clock? Thank you all.

The 555 chip is an oscillator. It uses resistors and capacitors to set the oscillation rate, That means it is likely LESS accurate than the Arduino itself which has a ceramic resonator or quartz crystal for timing.

A real time clock is more or less a time keeping device that counts human time units but 555 has no such capabilities. The DS1307 is very often used for real time clock. It's easy to hook up and costs very little, plus you can hook a coin battery to it to keep the clock running when main power is off.
