Run Arduino on Inel Edison without PC

Hi guys,

so I have a program functioning the way I want it to function but when I disconnect the Intel Edison from the PC the sketch just stops. I read, that you only head to connect an external power source to the device but that doesn´t seem to work for me..

Do you have a separate power supply or is the Edison getting it's power from the USB which you disconnect?
