Running Arduino from SD card

Hey guys I am using a single board computer http://www.embeddedarm.com/products/board-detail.php?product=ts-7800 that has a slot for a 2GB SD card and unfortunately there is not enough memory on the board itself to install Arduino so we are trying to install it on the SD card and run it from there. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Why are giving the Ubuntu to a single board computer try for a simpler Linux package such as a Puppy or Fedora or something like this + I initially worked towards making the Arduino IDE work under the puppy when i had a primitive computer which ran puppy only nothing else http://www.arduino.cc/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1186836383;start=all now i have a nice computer with windows 7 so i dnt need that.

The board is running Debian Squeeze, the workstation is running Ubuntu, I want to install Arduino on the SD card to be used in the Debian Squeeze environment because the board that has Debian Squeeze on it doesn't have enough on board memory to install Arduino on it.
