Running at 8mhz 3.3 pro mini - SOLVED

Hello, I bought some pro mini 8mhz boards. I have a project that requires it. But looking over what I need I found out I can run everything on 5v. The pro mini still has its voltage regulator. How can I burn it back to being the 16mhz? Also can I power it with 5v or would it need to be on 3.3v?

It looks like it still has everything. I took this photo.

Sell them on ebay - or hold onto them for another day.

Why is that? I just got them in today. My project is build around this form factor and size. I can't get anymore right now. I have to use what I have.

you can feed them with 5V (on the right pin), but just keep them on 8MHz.
Think pink: at least some serial baudrates are closer to the specification than on the 16MHz versions

I could be wrong, but I believe you would have to switch to a 5V regulator and make the resonator swap (buy parts).
Maybe 3V logic, 3V HI's, is acceptable.

I looked at the 5v versions the hardware is the same no difference.

For an Pro Mini designed for 8Mhz and 3.3V, you would need to replace the 8Mhz resonator with a 16Mhz one.

Except the regulator (3V vs 5V) and the resonator (8MHz vs 16).
Why ask questions at this rate?
Run it up the flagpole and see who salutes.

Im sorry you are right. I miss understood. Itook a look at the resonator.

I'm sorry. I messed up. Funny thing is I did find a 5v version one I have that I haven't saw in a while. Thank you all for the help and helping me to understand.
