Sabertooth 2x12 Motors spinning endlessly and fast no matter what code I upload

Hello,

I am trying to test out the robot I have made. I have set it up using the Sabertooth 2x12 and 2 motors. When I plug in the battery to the system, which goes directly into the sabertooth battery terminals, the motors start spinning endlessly, and fast. I tried some of the sabertooth arduino libraries that I found online, but no matter what code I upload to the arduino, or what the code says, the motors just keep spinning fast. Has anybody else ran into this problem? Am I missing something?

Is this controller intended to be connected to a RC receiver ?? Is that what you have done or are you controlling it with Arduino
