Not strictly true.
There are at least 3 litigations in progress on a "right to repair" basis which Apple is fighting tooth and nail and that fight is, in some cases with legitimate repairers.
Some US states are also weighing in on these litigations but not in apples support.
It is not often I hear about apple without some form of legal battle in the same sentence.
This seems to be the case more and more.
I nearly joined the appleites in buying an apple at one point but the costs, both initial and recurring for almost every little thing and the outright lack of third party support for parts and repairs totally put me off.
Realise that does not cross every users list of requirements, and that there are many happy apple users out there but when something is glued together to stop me poking around inside it then it is off my list.
