Saving variables memory

Hi everyone,i am doing a petty complex arduino un sketch, the problem is that i always run out of memory. Some memory was wasted by a font that i was importing, but i manage to delete all the characters i dont need and recalculated all the character offset. Doing this, my font got down from 38.138 bytes to 5.593 Bytes (not reallly sure about those values, i just conted the 0x?? inside the font file). what i am trying to do now is to chaange all the variables that are static to "'#define", bot i have some int arrays that i dont know how to "Convert", can someone tell me how to do that?

Make them const and see if that makes a difference

Do they need to be ints? They seem to be bytes

does not affect memory usage.

I am usign UTFTGLUE.h, which uses Adafruit_GFX_Library.

i tried replacing colorsX[i] to 0x?? and it seems to work, so they probably work if they are stored as a bytearray, should i try that?

Are you sure it doesn't reduce? Because it should reduce you ram usage.

Oh sorry, i was talking about rom storage not ram storage. I am plenty of ram, 42% used

Maybe post your entire code… there may be some coding structures that can be tuned up.

BTW, code recalculating the character offsets may take up some of the space saved in flash.

yes, sorry about thst, title is ambiguous.

managed to save 60 Bytes changing int to uint8_t, which is the same thing as byte.

now editing another font, which is small in size but i cam probaly save someting by deleting all the capital letters and the special symbols.

i can post the code, but is rellay not clear since i am still working on it.

I think i am missing something there, I am sure the character offset is saved in the font file, at the end od if
