Scan network using Ethernet Shield

Thank you to anyone reading this, and even more so if you have any help for me. I bought a Ethernet shield and want to scan all the ssid available in the vicinity. I read its possible with wifi shield but can i also achieve the same using Ethernet shield connected to wifi router.

No. The Ethernet shield knows nothing about how the router communicates with some connected devices.

Kindly help me to find what kind of device would help me to achieve my task

Then, isn't that your answer?

I want to use scan network program to find all devices in range. But arduino wifi shield is preely costly, can I use any other shield or device with arduino uno to get the work done

You have my permission to use whatever shield you like. Of course, there is only one that might work. If the project is worth doing, suck it up and buy the right hardware. If not, move on.
