For my thesis project I'm working on an indoor positioning system.
I started off using the CC3000, but apparently the firmware from Texas Instruments does some kind of filtering when scanning for wireless networks.
If multiple access points have the same SSID, it will only return one of them in the scan results, even though the BSSIDs and of course the RSSI are different.
This basically rendered the CC3000 useless to me, cause I'm missing a lot of crucial information (most companies use the same SSID throughout there building, to provide a better user experience by allowing users to roam between access points).
After some searching I found that the Microchip / Roving Networks products (WiFly RN-131 or RN-171) should be useable.
But, before I'm ordering these, I would like to make sure that the WiFly products do NOT filter the scan results.
Can anyone confirm / test this?
Thanks,
Arno
